Last week, our team had the privilege of joining the Atlassian Community Event in Prague, themed “Powering Productivity: Automation and Collaboration Strategies for Jira Teams.” The gathering brought together Jira experts, app vendors, and community enthusiasts to share best practices on boosting efficiency and unlocking new possibilities with Atlassian tools.

Presenting Smart Fields for Jira

Our colleagues Dave and Michele took the stage to introduce Smart Fields for Jira to an audience of more than 50 participants. Instead of a one-way presentation, they made the session interactive by inviting questions throughout.

One of the more memorable moments came when an attendee prefaced their question with: “You will definitely hate me for this question…” The question? Why not just use ScriptRunner.

Dave and Michele responded by highlighting how Jira Workflow Toolbox (JWT) works hand-in-hand with Smart Fields, opening up automation scenarios that go beyond what ScriptRunner alone can offer. The explanation not only addressed the concern but even left the questioner smiling.

The engagement didn’t stop there. Dave and Michele fielded multiple questions covering real-world use cases, and the lively back-and-forth truly showcased the curiosity and enthusiasm of the Prague community.
