catworkx Midsummer Day 2019

Last week, our team attended yet another great Atlassian ecosystem event, namely the catworkx Midsummer Day 2019 in Hamburg.

Although catworkx puts up a great show every year, this year was special because our host had a unique reason to celebrate: catworkx turned 20 years!

The result: the biggest catworkx Midsummer Day ever – more than 260 participants from all over the world made their way to Hamburg to speak to other app vendors, experts and Atlassian representatives.
Well enough reasons for us to follow their call and sponsor the event again.

The main event spread over two days and consisted of best practice sessions and a large exhibition.
Our session “Do more – turn your idea into workflows and automate your daily work” was completely packed. Wow! We would like to say thank you for the high level of interest and the great atmosphere during our session. It was amazing. For all of you who unfortunately could not be there here's a short summary:

Our presentation was divided into three parts, summarized under the main topic It's tooltime!
Starting with our most popular app, Jira Workflow Toolbox, we showcased a scenario of organizing an event (much like the catworkx Midsummer Day 2019). By illustrating how Jira Workflow Toolbox can help to model complex processes, we were able to excite our audience right from the start:

From the subject of creating workflows we went on to the second app that we presented during our session: Admin Toolbox for Jira. As the majority of our audience were Jira administrators, the numerous comfort functions provided in the were able to make faces shine. Just to mention a few features of Admin Toolbox for Jira we demonstrated:

Last but not least we moved on to the latest app in our portfolio, Automation Toolbox for Jira. Being successful on the Atlassian Marketplace with Jira Workflow Toolbox for many years, the next logical step has been lifting its almost endless functionality and flexibilty to a whole new level - out of the workflow context into event-based actions:

  • Listening for numerous Triggers, e.g. field or status changes, issue or project events and even scheduled events etc.
  • Performing numerous Actions, e.g. adding comments, updating fields, creating issues, sending emails etc.
  • Adding our powerful Expression Parser and a modern and user-friendly UI into the mix and the result is: awesome feedback from all attendees.

In short, most people attending the session had already known and valued Jira Workflow Toolbox, but left as new fans of our other toolboxes: Admin Toolbox and Automation Toolbox.

Day one concluded with the appropriate birthday celebration: a ride across the river Elbe on the MS KOI past the Landungsbrücken and the Elbphilharmonie - a breathtaking view and an experience we will remember for a long time ...

Day two: the exhibition. Just like on the first day we continued having great conversations with customers, interested parties and partners, made new contacts, and received a lot of good feedback and suggestions for new features, which will help to make our xApps even better.

In the end it only remains for us to say: Happy Birthday catworkx and thank you for this great event - it was madness!
Another big thank you goes out to all visitors - we sure hope to meet you again soon!

In the meantime we will continue to work on new features, just for you. If you have any questions or suggestions about our xApps, we are very much looking forward to your feedback.
